Fusion of Max Planck Institutes of Biophysical Chemistry and Experimental Medicine
The Max Planck Institutes of Biophysical Chemistry and Experimental Medicine will merge into one institute as of 1 January 2022.
The name of the new institute on campus will be
Max-Planck-Institut für Multidisziplinäre Naturwissenschaften /
Max Planck Institute of Multidisciplinary Sciences
The short name will be the same in both German and English: MPI-MNAT
MPI-MNAT reflects the characteristics of both institutes – the extraordinary scientific breadth – which is unique within the Max Planck Society.
