Research on Science – Summer schools and workshops (Volkswagen Foundation, apply by 2 May 2022)

2560px-Logo_Volkswagenstiftung.svgWithin the framework of “Research on Science”, the Volkswagen Foundation supports workshops and summer schools that aim to deepen, link and experiment with the various methodological approaches or theoretical challenges of science research. The aim is to introduce younger scientists from different disciplines to research on science, or the events are intended to serve their (further) qualification. With this funding offer, a contribution is made to strengthen research on science as an interdisciplinary and methodologically diverse field of research and to build up and expand corresponding knowledge, especially among young scientists in Germany.

Funding offer

The program is aimed at post-doctoral researchers who are engaged in research on science. Funding is provided for workshops and summer schools in which doctoral and post-doctoral researchers are taught new knowledge, methodological skills and working methods relevant to the development of the research field. It is also possible to apply for up to three thematically consecutive events as one series of events.

Further information on the conditions of the call and on how to apply can be found under “Information on Application 123a (pdf)”.

Background

This funding offer for summer schools and workshops is one of two initiatives that explicitly address science research in the field of action “Perspectives on Science” (a call for collaborative projects will follow in summer 2022). Together with other structural or personal initiatives, they form the profile area “Knowledge about Knowledge”.
