5th Third Infinity Conference: Beyond Scientific Borders, 21-23 Sept 2022, Göttingen
It is our pleasure to announce the fifth edition of the International Max Planck Research School – Physics of Biological and Complex Systems (IMPRS-PBCS) conference Third Infinity 2022: Beyond Scientific Borders. The conference will be held September 21-23 at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Göttingen, Germany.
Third Infinity is a biennial conference organized by the Ph.D. students of the International Max Planck Research School — Physics of Biological and Complex Systems; providing an interdisciplinary platform for young and experienced researchers from around the world to exchange ideas and promote scientific research.
This year’s conference is divided into three scientific sessions, each with two invited speakers:
- Nonlinear dynamics and complex networks
Keynote: Prof. Dr. Bjorn Stevens, MPI for Meteorology, Hamburg
Prof. Dr. Marc Timme, TU Dresden (to be confirmed)
- Biophysics from experiments to computations
Prof. Dr. Anne Grapin Botton, MPI of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden
Dr. Andela Saric, Institute of Science and Technology, Austria
- Statistical physics and active matter
Prof. Dr. Thomas Speck, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz
Prof. Dr. Remi Monasson, École Normale Supérieure, Paris
To give our PhD students a better picture of future career opportunities after graduation, we also host a career fair and an alumni event where some of them give talks, such as:
