Run jointly by the British Academy, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal Society, the Newton International Fellowships are for non-UK scientists who are at an early stage of their research career and wish to conduct research in the UK. The will close to applications on 28 March 2023. Research must be within the Royal Society’s remit of natural sciences, which includes but is not limited to biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. The University of Bremen has again opend a call for 3-year independent projects for postdocs - this time the focus is interdisciplinarity. You can apply when you are from Germany or abroad. The Frankfurt-based Aventis Foundation will grant up to three annual research awards for young and talented postdoctoral researchers in life sciences or group leaders (minimum of 3 years postdoc experience). Each award will be endowed with a subsidy amount of € 100,000 to help creative postdocs pursue their innovative research projects and jump-start their careers in life sciences. The Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation are offering a the Einstein Fellowship for outstanding young thinkers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. The purpose of the fellowship is to support those who, in addition to producing superb work in their area of specialization, are also open to other, interdisciplinary approaches – following the example set by Albert Einstein. The fellowship includes living accommodations for five to six months in the garden cottage of Einstein`s own summerhouse in Caputh, Brandenburg, only a short distance away from the universities and academic institutions of Potsdam and Berlin.
