Information about the speaker:
Ulrike Keitel studied biology and did a PhD in Molecular Oncology at the University of Göttingen. The question “What to do with a PhD?” led her to the path of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Starting as Scientist Operations at QIAGEN GmbH Leipzig in 2015, she was responsible for the coordination, organization and production of PCR test kits for veterinary diagnostics. From April 2016 onwards, Ulrike continued her career as Project Manager for the production of human vaccines at IDT Biologika GmbH in Dessau. IDT Biologika GmbH focuses on contract manufacturing and produces vaccines and pharmaceuticals for national and international markets. Here, she was responsible for planning and monitoring of complex projects, including vaccine development until licensing. In October 2018, Ulrike decided to work closer to manufacturing and took over the position as Group Lead Technical Operations of the human vaccine production where she now receives training to take over the position as Head of Manufacturing for human vaccines at IDT.
