European Researchers’ Night (Nov 27, 2020)
On November 27, 2020, the European Researchers’ Night 2020 will take place at several locations and research institutions in Europe. Traditionally, the European Researchers’ Night is organized on the last Friday in September. This year, however, the event had to be postponed due to the current Corona pandemic.
The EU funds the European Researchers’ Night through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. By this means, research institutions in Europe gain the opportunity to interactively showcase different research professions to the general public. The aim isto demonstrate the direct influence of research on everyday life in order to motivate especially the younger audience to pursue a career in research. This year, 29 EU countries participate in the European Researchers’ Night. Here you find the out about the participating countries and the full program.
In Germany, the European Researchers’ Night will take place in Kiel. The region of Kiel will offer a combination of on-site and online events. The number of participants for the on-site events is limited. Registration for the on-site events is possible online from 5 to 25 November 2020. The online events can be accessed via “Wissenschafftzukunft-Kiel”, the website of the joint initiative of the scientific institutions in Kiel.
