GAUSS Career Impulse Session with Dr. Matthieu Hammer (Merck Group): “How I got into industry, a journey into pharmacovigilance” (21 April 2023, in-person!)
We are happy to announce our first in-person GAUSS Career Impulse Session since the pandemic, this time with Dr. Matthieu Hammer, Director in Case Processing and Quality Management at Merck Group.

About the speaker: Matthieu is a neuroscientist by academic training and a GGNB alumnus. He moved to Göttingen in 2009 for his PhD in the lab of Nils Brose at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences. His doctoral and post-doctoral research entailed the role of the Neuroligin 4 in neurodevelopmental disorder. Matthieu stepped into industry in 2016 to Icon Docs a contract research organisation where he learned the basic of pharmacovigilance. In 2018, he joined Merck in Darmstadt where he is now Director in Case Processing and Quality Management.
About the sessions: Our Career Impulse Sessions offer a platform for interactive and informal exchange about career-related topics for PhD students and postdocs in the Life and Natural Sciences. By inviting PhD holders with different career paths, we would like to illustrate the broad range of potential careers for PhD students and postdocs and give inspiration for career choices.
