Changes in the GAUSS Career Service Office – message from Stefanie Klug
Dear GAUSS Postdocs and PhD Students,
As many of you might already know, I am going to have a baby at the beginning of next year. Not as planned, I have to go on maternity leave earlier than expected and I just finished the handover to my two great colleagues, Vera Bissinger and Britta Korkowsky, who will cover my post over the next year until I am coming back in January 2021.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce both to you and welcome them in our team. Please see below for their short bios as well as which parts of my responsibilities they will each cover. No matter, for which topic or concern you would like to contact the GAUSS Career Service, the email address hasn’t changed and you are reaching both via career@gauss.uni-goettingen.de.
I wish you all a wonderful time in the run-up to Christmas, a great start into the New Year and all the best for 2020. I am very much looking forward to come back in 2021.

Dr. Vera Bissinger will take over the Career Counselling including CV/Application Checks as well as will be involved in our Alumni Mentoring Program, which is currently in its pilot phase.
Since 2014, Vera is coordinating the central mentoring programs for the Academic Staff Development of the Göttingen University. After her PhD in Freshwater Biology, she has been managing a graduate school in Environmental Research at a Helmholtz Centre for several years. She is a certified systemic counsellor and works as freelance trainer.
Dr. Britta Korkowsky will look after all our events including the Workshop and Career Impulse Sessions as well as the Alumni Network, the Newsletter, our Blog and all other organisational things.
After her PhD in Slavic Studies Britta started working in science management and has several years’ professional experience in a graduate school organizing the qualification program and various events.
