GAUSS Career Impulse Session (18 Feb 2022, 14:00-15:30, online) with Dr. Erik Schliep (Evotec): “Building software to surf the data tsunami”
We’re happy to announce our next GAUSS Career Impulse Session in 2022, this time with scientist / development engineer Dr. Erik Schliep from Evotec International GmbH.
About the speaker:
Erik is an alumnus of the GGNB program ‘Biomolecules: Structure – Function – Dynamics’ and did his PhD in the ‘Department of Structural Dynamics’ of Prof. Dr. Holger Stark at the MPI for Biophysical Chemistry. During that time, he was already involved in a small spin-out business from that department.
He graduated in August 2018 and moved from academia into biotech industry as a product manager for the ‘omics data analysis platform’ at Evotec, in Göttingen. There, he is responsible for steering the software product strategy and development into the right direction, working closely together with software developers, bioinformaticians and other scientists, such as molecular and computational biologists.
About the sessions: Our Career Impulse Sessions offer a platform for interactive and informal exchange about career-related topics for PhD students and postdocs in the Life and Natural Sciences. By inviting PhD holders with different career paths, we would like to illustrate the broad range of potential careers for PhD students and postdocs and give inspiration for career choices.
