Funding for junior research groups on Artificial Intelligence by BMBF (July 30, 2021)
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) currently has a call for funding for AI junior research groups. The call is addressed to qualified young researchers from the fields of computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, information technology, computational linguistics, neuroscience and cognitive science, psychology or related disciplines and AI-related fields working in interdisciplinary research groups.
The planned junior research groups must have their focus in one or more of the areas of foundations of AI, machine learning, and/or AI-based data analysis and knowledge extraction. The application process is two-step, and the deadline for submitting the project outline is July 30, 2021. All young scientists who are interested in submitting a proposal and would like to establish their junior research group at the University of Göttingen are invited. These can also be researchers who are not yet working at the University of Göttingen.
Independent of the participation in the info date of CIDAS, scientists who would like to submit a proposal are asked to contact CIDAS by June 20, 2021 and submit an abstract on the planned proposal (1 page) and a CV. The applications received will be forwarded by CIDAS to the Presidential Board of the university. The members of the Board reserve the right to make a selection of projects that can be submitted to the BMBF on June 29, 2021, if necessary. Proposal outlines must be ready for submitting to the Presidential Board by July 14, 2021.
