Online Workshop “An Introduction to Science Communication: How, Why, What?” (9-10 Feb 2023)
This online workshop (in English) is predominantly for PhD students of the GGG, but other PhD students are very welcome if free places are available – so take your chance and register now. The teaching will be in the form of short interactive seminars, with breaks and games for students and time for questions and answers. It will give researchers an overview of the main elements of science communication, including the tools to successfully communicate your research plus useful tips and common pitfalls. During the first session you will learn how to communicate your research to different audiences and what makes a good story. You will find out how journalists and the press operate. In the second session you will consider controversial topics and difficult questions, followed by different ways to be involved – from science events to social media – plus what support you can get from the University. There will be time for questions and answers.
When: 09.02.2023 10:00-12:30h & 10.02.2023 10:00-12:30h
Trainers: Melissa Sollich and Romas Bielke
Conditions of participation: The second session will build on the first so researchers should be available for both.
