The next Women’s Careers and Networks Symposium (WoCaNet) “Towards a Dialogue!” is taking place from 18-19 March 2019 at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry featuring talks by successful women and men in science from different research fields, industry and other professional backgrounds.

For further information please see below the detailed message by the organising team of the WoCaNet 2019!

Dear PhD students and postdocs,

The Women’s Careers and Networks Symposium (WoCaNet) has become a real tradition in Göttingen!

Since its first edition in 2010, WoCaNet has continuously achieved success and positive feedback from its attendees. This has established WoCaNet as an instrumental event for networking and mentoring opportunities on the Göttingen Campus.

We are happy to announce that the 6th Women‘s Careers and Networks Symposium will be held on the 18th-19th of March 2019 at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (MPIbpc) in Göttingen, with the slogan Towards a Dialogue!

We, the organizers, would like to wholeheartedly invite you to register for the symposium and make it another successful edition of WoCaNet.

The 19th of March will feature talks by successful women and men in science from different research fields (including a Nobel laureate!), industry and other professional backgrounds (see our speakers list). In addition, there will be a panel discussion on diversity in science. You can already contribute to our panel discussion by taking part in the online survey.
On the day before the main symposium event (the 18th of March), we will offer two soft skill workshops (Embracing Diversity in Leadership by Dr. Alexander Schiller, and Storytelling for Scientists by Dr. Karin Bodewits & Simon Hauser). Please note that these workshops are reserved for participants who identify as female, because they are supported by equal opportunities funds. Since both workshops are now full, you will be put on the waiting list if you want to participate in one of them.

Don´t miss out on this great networking opportunity! Register now

Registration fees:

  • 10 Euro for the Symposium (covering lunch and coffee breaks)
  • 15 Euro for participation in a workshop

Registration deadline: 15.02.2019

WE CAN´T WAIT TO MEET YOU THERE!
