Warning of fraudulent / threatening phone calls
We were informed that in the past few days, a number of doctoral students (and staff) have received threatening or alarming phone calls, e.g. regarding their residence permit status, personal data, bank and credit card data, etc.
These calls are fake and have a criminal background. Do not reply to those calls, do not follow their instructions (“please press 1”) or give out any (personal) information. It might be useful for the police investigation if you could inform the Göttingen police department in case you receive such calls.
