For students with advanced knowledge of the German language

If you are interested in a higher language level (B2/C level courses) please write an email to the GGNB office (ggnb@gwdg.de) as soon as possible. We try to accommodate the courses to your needs and if we have the minimum amount of participants (at least 12), we will try to offer an additional course with a higher level. Should higher level classes not be offered by GAUSS/GGNB due to low demand, you can still register to the “regular” German courses offered directly by the Lektorat Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF). They offer courses from level A1 to C1.

Registration process:

  • Decide which course level fits your knowledge of the German language best and choose the appropriate German course from the list
  • If you are unsure about your language level, please take an online placement test: https://dialangweb.lancaster.ac.uk
  • If you have already taken a German course at the Lektorat DaF, you do not need to take the placement test

Please note that you might be asked to switch the course after the first session in case a different level seems to be more suitable for you.
