Winner of the Göttingen Three Minute Thesis Competition 2023

We are happy to congratulate Aina Gallemí Pérez, doctoral student of GAUSS in the GGNB PhD Program “Physics of Biological and Complex Systems”, for the first place in this year’s institutional “Three Minute Thesis Competition”, which took place on 07 March 2023. With her presentation about “Understanding the heart to help it stay on beat” she was able to prevail against six other participants with interesting and exciting presentations.

The Göttingen University took part in the Coimbra Group’s “Three Minute Thesis Competition” for the fourth time. PhD students get the opportunity to present their doctoral research within three minutes in front of a lay audience. This year the jury consisted of Benjamin Bühring, part of the Public Relations Unit, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Wiegand, Prof. Dr. Ansgar Reiners, and Prof Dr. Tobias Georges representing the Göttingen graduate schools GFA, GAUSS, and GSGG. They decided that Aina Gallemí Pérez gets the chance to join the finals in Cologne in May/June 2023.

Now it is up to all participating Coimbra Group Universities, who will select the three finalists out of all institutional winners in Europe for the live competition in Cologne.

See you next year.Coimbra
