Bomb disposal on 30 Jan – notes for affected residential areas
Dear doctoral students,
This may not affect too many of you but we would like to inform to make sure everybody is informed.
Due to the suspicion of a bomb in Godehardstraße in Göttingen, all residents within a radius of 1,000 meters of the bomb site must leave their homes on Saturday, January 30, 2021.
Those affected are called upon to organize accommodation for the day of the defusing – in a private environment or in a hotel, for example. The Corona restrictions are loosened for this period. Two households can stay together with more than a single person. Anyone who needs assistance should call the city’s citizens’ hotline on 0551 400 4048 as soon as possible. The citizens’ hotline will be open from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11.
There will be two zones: People who live within a radius of 1,000 m from the bomb discovery will be evacuated. Those who have a distance of 1,250 m to it can stay at home but are supposed not to leave their houses (and preferably stay at a safe place such as the cellar).
Further information (unfortunately only in German) as well as a list of streets / houses affected are available on the following website: https://www.goettingen.de/aktuelles/bombenverdacht-hilfe-der-bevoelkerung-notwendig-2021-01-08.html
