Updated doctoral degree regulations
We would like to inform about the latest/new changes of the doctoral degree regulations that have been in force since 01 January 2022.
1) According to the paragraphs §10 (Dissertation) and §21 (Veröffentlichung der Dissertation), it is no longer necessary to include a CV in the dissertation – the CV does not have to be included in either the submitted or the published version.
However, a CV must still be submitted as an extra file when applying for admission to the doctoral examination.
2) The second change is of more relevance for the respective Dean’s/Program Office.
For persons who already have a general examination accreditation (Allgemeine Prüfungsberechtigung) in accordance with §12 paragraphs 1 and 2 in one of the GAUSS programms, the respective Dean’s/Program Office can now decide on their own to grant this person an examination accreditation limited to a single doctoral procedure (individual examination accreditation (Einzelprüfungsberechtigung)), but has to inform the GAUSS Office about this decision. The GAUSS board may raise an objection to such a decision within 14 days and decides about the individual examination accreditation.
The updtated doctoral degree regulation (in German) can be downloaded under the section Documents on the GAUSS website.
