Opportunity to become a Carpentries Instructor
At Göttingen Campus we run a lively Carpentries community – and look for additional instructors! This is an opportunity for you to become a certified instructor (please note that the number of tickets is very limited).
The Carpentries (https://carpentries.github.io/) is an international network of people who teach foundational coding and data science skills to researchers, librarians, and other workshop participants.
The teaching activities cover topics ranging from organizing data in spreadsheets, data cleaning, programming with R or Python, SQL, reproducible analysis, etc. – Typically, we teach a range of modules in pairs and there will be helpers during the live coding sessions.
If you are a PhD student and/or work in other roles at Campus Göttingen please get in touch if you would like to step up your teaching skills via becoming a Carpentries instructor (think of life coding, in a co-teaching format). After completing the training you will receive a certificate.
More information about the instructor training can be found here: https://carpentries.github.io/instructor-training/
Our Göttingen Campus group in coordinated by the library, with instructors and helpers from diverse backgrounds such as information science, computer science, psychology, physics, geo sciences, digital humanities, medical informatics, biology etc.
The next training sessions are available in January – February 2023 and are quickly filling up, so please get in touch!
We look forward to hear from you!
With best wishes,
Birgit and Hanna
