GAUSS Xmas Event
Dear fellow PhD students,
we would like to invite you on an excursion on Saturday, the 17th of December, to discover the historical Christmas market at the famous Wartburg castle in Eisenach. This Christmas market is not only taking place in the picturesque bailey of the castle, it also features artisans performing their craft in the traditional ways. Additionally, it would be possible to join a guided tour of the castle (unfortunately only in German), which is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Eisenach can be reached by train for free with the Semesterticket. Meeting point: 9am at the train station, the train to Eisenach leaves at 9.14 am and will arrive at 11.39 am. A convenient train back would leave Eisenach at 16.14 and arrive in Göttingen at 18.45 pm. There are shuttle busses between the train station and the castle.
