COST – Your Doorway to EU-Funding (20 June 2019)

Thursday, 20 June 2019  ǀ 10:00 h s.t.- 11:30 h
Research Department – EU Office  ǀ  von-Siebold-Straße 4, 37075 Göttingen
Meeting Room – 1st Floor

COST – an EU-funded programme – offers researchers and scholars the ideal means to establish or develop transnational interdisciplinary research networks over Europe and beyond. These networks called COST Actions allow researchers and scholars to develop their own ideas and new initiatives across all fields in science and technology, including social sciences and humanities, by providing funds to organise workshops, conferences, meetings, training schools, short scientific exchanges, dissemination and other networking activities.
Simplified application and reporting procedures make COST  a flexible, fast, efficient and very effective networking instrument by providing funding for up to four years. COST actions can pave the way to creating consortia for future EU-funded research projects.

Research advisors from the EU-Office, Lisa Grow, Claudia Sültmann and Christian Schöpper, will present the broad spectrum of eligible networking activities and provide details on how to submit a proposal or how to join an existing COST Action or how to become an external expert. In addition, PD Dr. Christian Brischke, Department of Wood Biology and Wood Products, Faculty of Forestry and Ecology will offer firsthand insight on his experiences with COST Actions.
